My favorite medium is clayboard, commonly known as scratchboard. Clayboard consists of a sturdy base (usually masonite) with a layer of clay on top. With scratchboard, the clay is further covered by black ink that can be scraped away. It creates a wonderful dynamic look and is a very rewarding medium to play with.
